Often when I post essays on Palestine I get interesting comments. Though I may not agree with their point of view, what they have to say is worthwhile considering.

Concerning the original inhabitants of what the Ottomans and British called Palestine Catwhisperer states:

“They weren’t “Palestinians.” That was a Greek creation of Herodotus. The people in the area were Philistines and the word itself meant a district of Syria between Egypt and Phoenicia.”

Vern Scott states:

“Jerusalem is thought to have originated 6,000 years ago. At that time, it may have been occupied by “Semitic People” (Male Haplotype J, which back then might have been the root of both Jews, Palestinians, and Arabs) Recorded history suggests the following occupiers:

2000–1500 BC Canaanites

1500–1200 BC Egyptians

1200–733 BC Israelites

733–539 BC Neo Assyrian, Babylonian

539–332 BC Persian

332–144 BC Hellenistic

140–63 BC Hasmonian (Abrahamic)

63 BC-324 AD Roman

324–636 AD Byzantine
