Hey Michelle,

I try to understand human psychology in day to day life.

It’s really nice when we go to a public place like a park or a beach. We can wander around without any boundaries. It gives a sense of freedom.

But what about privacy and peace? For that we prefer our home. At home there are boundaries to keep out people who are not linked to us.

In a relationship also we may enjoy freedom without any boundaries but at the cost of our privacy and freedom.

Ultimately for maintaining our sanity we need to put up boundaries. That gives us a feeling of protection.

How much others respect those boundaries shows their level of maturity.

Even though they know the boundaries set by you, yet they try to cross them then you are on guard.

It’s like an invasion in your personal space.

Your boundaries alert you against anything that is not of your liking.

Setting boundaries in life and relationships gives you time and space to grow. If others know your limits, they are less likely to take you for granted.

Dave Mumm asks “If there are no boundaries in life, then is everything permissible?”
