The lameness of Perry’s opinion is so profound, though, that I was shocked to discover he’s not just a young adult whose writing reflects the fact that he’s overcome with hormones. At least, he’s old enough to have grown a beard, as his profile photo indicates. Still, his opinion about Cooper’s prosthesis belongs to people younger than him, to teenagers or to twentysomethings who feel strongly and who are therefore more concerned with what to do about feelings than about how feelings can be irrelevant to facts.
