What is Love?
An Introduction to the aspects of love.
There are a number of things in life that it is difficult to define though we have likely, attempted to do so since the beginning of recorded history. These things are God, culture, art, truth, and more than anything ‘love’.
Some will argue with me and insist they have an understanding of love. However, given a bit of time and life experience, they will return and say, ‘I was deeply mistaken’. They will be able to tell you of the agony and the ecstasy of love but as for a specific definition…on this, they will surrender, and either laugh, cry, or stand in front of you in a state of detached numbness, or just smile gently while nodding their head up and down or shaking it side to side with that same Mona Lisa smile.
In life, there is likely, nothing as important as love, so since I have your attention, even for just a few minutes, let’s explore the nature of love.
Love encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasure. An example of this range of meanings is that the love of a mother differs from the love of a spouse, which differs from the love of food.
